- Q. Should I register before I participate in a walk?
- A. Registering online now will save you time on the day of the walk.
- Q. Now that I have registered what else should I do?
- A. Encourage your friends, family and colleagues to register as part of your team or they can sponsor your participation. The more people that sponsor you or join your team the more money you will raise!
- Q. Can I volunteer for any of Fight Cancer Walks?
- A. Yes. Volunteers must be 18 years and over. To Download the Volunteer Registration Form click here.
- Q. Will there be food at the event?
- A. Food vendors may be there on the day depending on the venue—please check for updated details in the Venue section. All participants are welcome to bring their own food and drink.
- Q. What if it rains?
- A. The walk will still go on if it rains and will not be cancelled, so please attend—just bring your wet weather gear.
- Q. I’m part of a team of 15 or more walkers. What can we do to show we are a team?
- A. Teams or organisation can pre-order T-Shirts with their Team Name or LOGO on the back at a cost of $20 per shirt.
- Q. Can I bring my pusher/dog/bicycle?
- A. NO. As we will be walking around a race track, pushers/strollers, dogs, bikes are NOT ALLOWED.
- Q. What is the distance of the walk?
- A. The walk varies in each state depending on the length of each race track. On average a race track is 2.4km in length. We have between 10am to 12noon to complete 1 or 2 laps.
- Q. Is parking available at each race course?
- A. Yes at a donation to the Fight Cancer Foundation of $2.00 per vehicle.
- Q. Can I still be involved if I can’t attend the walk on the day?
- A. Yes! If you can’t attend a walk you can fundraise through making a donation through our website or sponsor a team or an individual who is participating.
- Q. Are donations tax deductible?
- A. Yes, all donations over $2.00 are tax deducible. Complete the online registration or donation process and you will receive an official receipt forwarded to your email address.
- Q. Is my payment online secure?
- A. This web site is managed by Cardgate and is protected and fully secured using 128 bit encryption and is endorsed by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
- Q. If I want to pay by cheque who do I make it out to?
- A. Your cheque should be made out to the Fight Cancer Foundation.
- Q. Does the Fight Cancer Foundation website accept overseas donations?
- A. Yes
- Q. How will I know if my donation was successful?
- A. Please provide a valid email and you will receive a receipt via email shortly after you complete the donation process.
- Q. What cards and payments do you accept?
- A. The online system accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club. Donations as part of sponsoring an individual for the walk can also be made to participants in person by cash or cheque.
